Terms and Conditions
Acceptance and what this service is
By creating an account or using CV Report Share, you agree to these terms. CV Report Share is a free, community-run platform that works to make it easy for reporters to securely share content with reviewers. It is not an emergency service, a legal service, or a law enforcement service.
A free, community-run platform
The service is provided free of charge by a community effort. We do our best to keep it running and useful, but we make no promise that it will always be available, error-free, or suited to your needs. We may change, pause, or discontinue features at any time.
Accounts
To get started you need a username and an email address. Keep your sign-in details to yourself, and give us an email address you can actually access. You are responsible for activity under your account.
You must be at least 18 years old to use the service.
Your content and your controls
You keep ownership of what you upload. You give us permission only to store it and make it available according to the settings you choose. You decide whether it is watermarked, visible in the data room, and downloadable, and you decide who receives a link to it.
Only upload content you have the right to share, and do not upload anything that is illegal.
Security: what we cannot promise
By using the service, you acknowledge that:
- We encrypt data in transit and at rest, but we do not guarantee that uploaded content is 100% secure.
- A malicious person, including someone with legitimate access, may be able to record content by means outside the platform, such as a screenshot or a photo of a screen.
- You share content at your own risk and should decide what to include with that risk in mind.
Reviewer responsibilities
Reporters take a risk by sharing content, and reviewers are trusted to treat it according to the reporter’s wishes. If you receive a link to a report, you agree to:
- Use the content only to review the report.
- Respect the reporter’s settings, including watermarking, visibility, and download permissions.
- Never download or redistribute the content without the reporter’s authorization.
Prohibited conduct
You may not:
- Download or redistribute a report without the reporter’s authorization.
- Record, copy, or share report content by any means, including means outside the platform, without the reporter’s authorization.
- Try to get around watermarking, visibility, or download settings.
- Knowingly upload fabricated content in order to harm someone.
- Harass or threaten other users, or try to access another user’s account or data.
Enforcement and the confidentiality violation list
Unauthorized download or redistribution of a reporter’s content violates these terms and our community guidelines. Reporters can report unauthorized distribution of their data.
We may suspend or remove accounts that break these terms. We also maintain a list of users who violate confidentiality, and we share it with legitimate organizations on request. See the Privacy Policy for what the list contains.
Disclaimers and limits on liability
The service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, the operators and contributors are not liable for any loss or harm arising from your use of the service, including loss caused by others recording or disclosing content outside the platform. Nothing here is legal advice.
Changes, governing law, and contact
If we change these terms, we will update the effective date above, and continued use means you accept the changes.
